AmeriCorps is the federal agency for national service and volunteerism. AmeriCorps provides opportunities for Americans of all backgrounds to serve their country, address the nation’s most pressing challenges, and improve lives and communities.
Key Services
The recently awarded grant focuses on expanding our current health education, promotion services, activities, and programs improving the quality of health education and community assistance programs throughout Middlesex County. AmeriCorps members will support sites through wellness-focused mental health initiatives, planning and promoting self-care days, hosting emotional health-themed workshops, and implementing socially distanced and virtual social events.
Members will have the opportunity to earn up to an educational stipend and a modest living allowance in return for their commitment and service. Applicants must be 17 years of age or older, a U.S. Citizen, national or legal permanent resident, and be willing and able to commit up to one year of service. Recruitment is ongoing.

Responsibilities of JRF AmeriCorps Member
- Provide referrals and linkages to reduce food insecurity.
- Assist with the recruitment & coordination of volunteer opportunities.
- Assist with special projects and events such as MLK Day of Service and 9/11 day of Remembrance.
- Identify and network with community partners.
- Attend JRF AmeriCorps Trainings & Bi-Monthly Meetings
- Attend statewide AmeriCorps events & trainings as required by New Jersey State Commission
